Pirate Treasure is a Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! episode from season one.

Characters Present[]

Summary[]

Wubbzy finds a treasure map in a library book about pirates. He decides to follow it to the treasure. Walden and Widget come along even though they don't believe that there's really treasure in Wuzzleburg, but Wubbzy knows there's treasure for sure. They end up having a fun pirate adventure together.

Recap[]

Wubbzy and his friends are enjoying their new library books when a map falls out of Wubbzy’s pirate book. Wubbzy soon realizes that it’s a treasure map leading to treasure right in their town, Wuzzleburg! Wubbzy wants to search for it, but Widget and Walden are skeptical, believing that there might not be any treasure. Regardless, Wubbzy remains optimistic, even giving him and his friends silly pirate-themed nicknames in true pirate spirit.

After taking Birdy-Bird as his ‘parrot’ best friend, the three go off on their adventure. When they get to the beach, they realize they don't have a boat to sail with! Fortunately, they find an old pirate ship, and with the help of Widget's Handy-Dandy 3000 (or rather, the Pirate Pal 3000), the boat is ready for sailing!

In order to steer, Wubbzy uses his tail as an oar. Along the way, they face many obstacles, like a storm of speckled flying frogs and rocky rocks jutting out from the sea.

Finally, a huge wave knocks the ship and the group to the island's shore. Wubbzy then spots some pretty rocks, which turn out to be snappity-snap turtles. With some quick thinking, Wubbzy throws some crackers at them. While they're eating, the group quickly sneaks away.

As they explore the island, Widget and Walden get fed up. They say that while Wubbzy can keep looking for the treasure, they give up and plan to leave the island. Before doing so though, they end up finding the X on the treasure map, which happens to be a house shaped like an X.

At the house, they meet Captain Sweet-Tooth Tom, a pirate who loves candy and adventure. Tom explains he drew the map himself, and that the treasure was the adventure and fun the three had getting here. He then lets them choose one piece of candy from his treasure box. Afterward, Tom wants the three to bring him back to Wuzzleburg so another group of explorers can have fun as well. While Tom grabs his library card, the three all remark on how the day has been a great treasure for all of them.

  • The title card is read by Wubbzy as "The Pirate Treasure".
  • This episode shares a title with The Backyardigans and Little Einsteins.
  • Goof: On Noggin/Nick Jr. airings of this episode along with its sister episode, the yellow colors looked a bit pale (noticeably Wubbzy himself being pale), mainly due to compression issues, this first happened in airings of Wubbzy Bounces Back!/Dash for Dolly and Watch the Birdie/Wubbzy Tells a Whopper and will later happen again for the final time in The Grass is Always Plaider/Everything's Coming Up Wubbzy.
    • However on DVD prints and widescreen prints of this episode, the colors has been fixed.
